European Studies Vadose Zone Journal welcomes original contributions, reviews, and opinion papers across a wide range of disciplines that involve the vadose zone, including those that address broad scientific and societal issues (e.g., climate change, biofuels, sustainability, nanotechnology). Vadose-zone microbial ecology is the study of the microbes residing in the vadose zone, their interactions with each other, and their interactions with their surrounding environment. Compared with soil microbiology, a field for which a significant amount of agriculturally oriented research has been conducted, vadose-zone microbial ecology is a relatively young science. We present the first mathematical model that accounts for surfactant‐induced flow and solid‐phase and air‐water interfacial adsorption. We apply the model to simulate PFOS (a PFAS compound of primary concern) transport in the vadose zone at a model fire‐training area site impacted by aqueous film‐forming foam (AFFF).

special section in Vadose Zone Journal we present a collection of papers reflecting current trends in modeling and monitoring vadose zone processes from field to landscape scales. The objectives of this introductory paper are to set the stage for the special issue by pro-viding background information, by showing the interrelationship of Introduction to the Special Section in Vadose Zone Journal Parameter Identification and Uncertainty Assessment in the Unsaturated Zone Jasper Vrugt D URING the last few decades hydrologists have made significant progress toward applying physically based simulation models for the analysis and understanding of field-scale flow and transport phenomena in the vadose zone. An understanding of vadose zone hydrology is important for irrigation design and management as well as protecting water quality. Spatial variability in soil properties such as available water capacity and hydraulic conductivity affect the processes of infiltration, runoff, and deep percolation. 2010-07-02 Showing 1 - 20 results of 3,784 for search '"Vadose zone journal"', query time: 4.52s Narrow search Results per page 10 20 50 Sort Relevance Date Descending Date Ascending De senaste tweetarna från @vadosezonej van Genuchten, editor of Vadose Zone Journal, reported that about 150 institutions now subscribe to the journal.

The impact factor (IF), also denoted as Journal impact factor (JIF), of an academic journal is a measure of the yearly average number of citations to recent articles published in that journal. 1.2. Vadose zone hydraulic properties and climate-varying recharge Recent research has begun to consider the properties of the vadose zone that may influence whether groundwater levels may respond to climate variability. To investigate the role of the vadose zone, these studies have focused on the relations between soil and waterproperties We determined oak water sources by combining observations of water stable isotope composition, vadose zone moisture and groundwater dynamics, and metrics of tree water status (potential) and use (sapflow).

Vadose Zone Journal (VZJ) is an outlet for interdisciplinary research and assessment of the vadose zone, the mostly unsaturated zone between the soil surface and the permanent groundwater table. The journal publishes 4 issues every year, and issues has about 20-30 articles, focusing on soil hydrology and the migration of solutes (colloids) in the vadose zone. Although the impact factor is not high, ranking seventh in soil science, but it is a well recognized journal in the US.
